Global Connections
Technology offers us huge possibilities to connect outside the four walls of our classroom. Students can meet other classes, or talk to experts that they wouldn't have necessarily gotten to do otherwise. I use Google Hangouts or Skype for my connections. Listed below are places to go to get started. See the Video Conferencing Adventures link in the left hand menu to see some of the experiences Hangouts and Skype have helped me set up.
Twitter can be used to search for experts in different fields. This link is for the search feature of Twitter, which you can use to find guest speakers. You can also use #mysteryskype, #mysteryhangout, or #mysterynumber to search for classes to connect with.
